This is a good example, and it seems to be echoed in the comments here, that when I first read some Calvin and Hobbes (and I think it was like even my freshman/soph year of High-school), I did not always understand the humor or jokes. (and, shamefully, I almost thought C&H wasn't even funny).

When I rediscovered C&H in College the simple brilliance, the art, and craftsmanship blew my mind. Now a proud owner of the Complete Hardbound set, and it's in the top 3 favorite book/collections I have.
