well since people are sharing trade in stories, way way way way back in the day you could trade in games to Toys R' Us for Geoffrey dollars (basically instore credit), they would give you $1 GD for every game you traded in. So as semi clever kids we would go to every Funcoland and buy up all the Mario bro's/Duck hunt NES carts we could for anywhere from 17-35 cents and trade the games in. Was not long before Funcoland caught on and started to raise the prices, but by that time we had worked our asses off peddling bikes from town to town to go to every store we could, luckily we lived in a very densely populated area with tons of stores. We hit garage sales after that, goodwill, swap meets, fleamarkets, etc... we ended up with almost $1000 GD's which we used to buy playstations and eventually a dreamcast with a bunch of games. One of my favorite summers as a kid. Just two dumb kids on bikes with all the energy in the world.
