Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president Dana White didn't think former Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz, who also fought for the division title inside the Octagon, was ever going to make his return to mixed martial arts (MMA).

Turns out those pesky drug testers from United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) only show up while he’s busy smoking a bunch of weed, thanks to the cannabis sponsorships that keep him employed outside the cage.

Diaz elaborates to My MMA News:

“They know where I’m at though. Somebody over there is not doing their job. I mean realistically, they showed up to one of my dispensary signings. Like I said, I gotta do what I can with what I have to work with when I’m not fighting. The whole cannabis industry thing is a hit right now, so yeah, I’ll book an appearance over there and I’ll go and smoke a bunch of weed and it’s a good time. So of course, word is out I’m gonna be here, they show up.”

Not to be that guy, but I think that means they are doing their job.

Diaz (26-9, 2 NC) hasn’t seen action since his decision loss to Anderson Silva in early 2015, a performance that ended with interference from the “dorks” at Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC).

The longtime combat sports veteran will need to pass a battery of drug tests before returning to UFC, which currently answers to USADA, which may explain why he continues to turn down fights.

this article is ridiculous. why is the headline framed to make it sound like weed has anything to do with his complaint? hes taking issue with them bothering him at any time, and debating their claim that they dont know where he is. this headline sucks and so does the article
