Nevada Lawmakers Pass Law Making It Illegal To Drive Slow In Fast Lane

Have you ever driven on the highway and there is some jackwagon driving BELOW the speed limit in the left lane? There are few things in life more rage inducing than some clueless moron slowing you down for exactly no good reason. You often think (after a significant amount of swearing), "What in the name of all that is good and holy is this asshat doing? This sort of idiocy should be illegal!" Well, GOOD NEWS, as of July 1st the good folks over in the Nevada State Government have heard you and have made driving below the speed limit in the left lane illegal!

It's 2017, why has it taken so damn long for someone to come to their good senses and make this law? Not only is driving slowly in the fast lane during normal driving infuriating, it is also dangerous. "It's law here that if you're gonna be in that lane, you need to be going at least the speed limit," trooper Jason Buratczuk told KTNV 13. The law is reportedly not intended to encourage speeding, but to keep traffic flowing smoothly and prevent road rage incidents, many of which are caused by these so-called "left lane hogs" that clog up the road."

The only problem? The fines are too small. First offense, $50, second $100 and the third $250. That is entirely too low. Should I have the power (a truly terrifying prospect, I know) first offense, $250, second offense $1000, Third offense 1 year in a siberian prision.

For now we can sit back and applaud the Nevada Government for their good sense. I can only hope their solid line of thinking makes its way across the nation.

So it is now illegal in Nevada to drive below and above the speed limit.

I think last year, they said that they would start enforcing the Keep Right unless passing rule out here in Michigan. Never happened. There are still many people who drive on the left lane and cruising.

Neat. Let's see that get enforced now.
