Fun fact, that would have been worth $14.58 in today's dollars back then. And if they had put that $1 in stocks and averaged 8% per year, it would be worth $1,386 today.

George Washington hasn't aged a day.

I did some quick research and this bill is not from 1923. The bill series is from 1923, but the bill itself is from 1927. You can tell by the signatures.

On the left side is Walter Orr Woods, who was the Register of the Treasury from 1927 to 1929. On the right side is Frank White, who was Treasurer of the United States from 1921 to 1928. That leaves only two years where they overlap, 1927 and 1928. So, why 1927 and not 1928? The 1923 series was replaced by the 1928 series. Technically speaking, this bill could have been printed in 1928 as the 1928 series wasn't actually released to the public until 1929.

Some other small facts, Woods was the second-to-last Register of the Treasury to have his signature on the bill. After 1933, the Register was replaced by the Secretary of the Treasury. The Treasurer's signature is now on the left side of the bill and the Secretary's signature is on the right.
