Paper can be pressed with an iron. Empty the water reservoir entirely. Set on medium . Place the paper on a cloth surface (ironing board with cover or the like ) and cover with thin fabric - like a linen dishcloth. Try with an unimportant paper first.
They should really ship these in those thin rigid boxes, or at least put something thicker in the envelope to prevent such a thing.
And yeah I know, more expensive postage costs yada yada, but I think the schools can handle it after I just paid tens of thousands of dollars for the damn piece of paper.

I think some postal carriers see 'Fragile' and 'Please Do Not Bend' as a challenge.
