In 1993, my cousin was kidnapped from the same small town Winona grew up in. Winona put up $200k of her own money as a reward for her safe return, was super supportive and involved with our family throughout the whole process, even came and stayed with us during the most difficult part of the ordeal. She was 22 and one of the biggest stars in the country - I don't think many people in her position would have put their lives on hold like that, but she did without hesitation. She is such a genuinely good person.
