Oh there is a real reason. Because capitalists wield the government like a weapon to keep the rest of us in line so that they can keep collecting their "subsidies" but if you ask government for something it's called a "handout". Think about that because the words we use matter. It keeps the powerful, powerful.

Ironically, Bob contributes more per dollar to the economy if you adhere to more Keynesian economics. He will actually buy products and is unable to avoid taxes. In addition, he can't really contribute to climate change since he can't afford long-haul flights or a gas-guzzler car. Meanwhile, Shell can continue polluting the planet because they can lobby politicians and rely on megalomaniac billionaires like the Koch Brothers and Rupert Murdoch to peddle the myth that climate change is fictional and scare-mongering.
