I think because women have a higher percentage of body fat she confuses that for being more fat in general or she's just a moron who heard that and decided it was the perfect excuse even though it doesn't make sense. I think the latter.
I used to work with this guy who started at 350 and kept going. He was always posting these healthy dinners on Facebook, demonstrating to all that his weight wasn't due to poor diet. People felt bad for him and he relished in being the victim.
Everyday at work, however, I'd watch him snack on chips, cookies, fast food, etc. All. Day. Long. Used to piss me off everytime I'd hear him complain about his weight.
