My step dad trained as a chef in the navy and when he was about 22 he volunteered at an old folks home on Christmas Day to cook dinner for the residents. 5 chefs cooked an entire Christmas dinner with all the trimmings for the all people living in the home. After they were finished prepping, they were told they had to blend the meal into a smoothie for some of the residents to eat. He's a strong man but tells me that it made him want to cry. Old age is a cruel bastard.
I was at a Paul McCartney show last night and there was a guy with his wife two rows in front of me. She is in a wheelchair as it was sitting off to the side of them. During the first song, he was kinda holding her up so she can dance to he music. Thought it was a nice moment and gesture, just like this guy with the ice cream.
