Isn't that that the old guy from the Diablo series?

I have medically diagnosed OCD and I have been doing well the past few years. Once I get enough sleep I can fight off the negative thought patterns.

I recently had a trip to Europe and the jetlag completely messed up my sleep cycle and the thoughts are coming back and I'm not doing well getting rid of them.

I'm going to see my therapist in just under 2 hours to have a session where I just tell him all my thoughts and hope they will have less power over me.

Seeing this has brought a huge smile to my face and it reminds me that I will eventually get control again. Whether it is through getting my sleep back on track, or my therapist or just the passing of time.

The brain is a great servant but, a terrible master. Have a wonderful day friends.

I feel like this is a really important point. Trying to stop yourself from thinking something is impossible, but being "passively aware" is very helpful. You pay attention to the thought, then let it go. Weirdly enough, I learned this technique while doing a horribly cheesy guided meditation thing where we were instructed to "be like the alligator: aware, but passive." It does help though.
