Didn't this turn out to be a wildly successful attraction that brought a lot of money into the cities it shows up in? From what I've read it was a successful investment. And aside from economics it seems to make a lot of people happy and that's nice.
The duck didn't cost $200,000. The entire festival cost $200,000. And it wasn't all tax payer money. And even the 'tax payer' money wasn't a hand out. It was a grant.
It's amazing the amount of people that believe a duck cost $200,000. People don't want facts, they just want to be mad at something.

I love that this duck is the spotlight right now of Canadian politics. Compared to what's going on down south it gives me comfort.
