Incredible collection!! How to tell between a common rock and a meteorite?? Magnetism?

Astronomer here! Confession all, these are not my personal meteorites- they are actually the University of Toronto's, donated over the years. Lots of Canadian ones but also some from Australia, Mexico, Texas, Namibia... Really fun to show off when we have a chance though as you can pick up all of them, and there are few things you can touch in astronomy! (Plus it was really neat to hand over the one in my hand for example and then tell that person they're holding a rock that's 4.5 billion years old and see their reaction...)

The only ones I actually own personally are my earrings, which are moldavite!
