Iron Fist may have been renewed for a second season, but there’s a creative shakeup going on behind the scenes.

EW has learned the Marvel superhero drama will change showrunners for its next round. Scott Buck (Dexter) is stepping down from the top writing gig on the show (though will continue showrunning Marvel’s upcoming The Inhumans). Raven Metzner (Sleepy Hollow, Falling Skies) has been hired to fill the Iron Fist top slot.

Iron Fist was given mixed-to-positive reviews from fans, but critics were less forgiving: The series scored the worst reviews of Netflix’s four Marvel dramas (the first season averaged a score of only 37 out of 100 on Metacritic). The show stars Game of Thrones veteran Finn Jones as Danny Rand, who returns to New York after years of mastering a superhuman form of martial arts training in the mysterious city of K’un-Lun.

At Comic-Con on Friday, Marvel executive Jeph Loeb teased that the popular character Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) will team up with Luke Cage detective Misty Knight (Simone Missick) in the new season.

Loeb also gave a statement to EW about Metzner, who’s repped by WME. “Raven’s love of all things Iron Fist and his extensive knowledge of martial arts films made him the perfect choice to continue telling the adventures of Danny Rand and Colleen Wing,” he said. “Season One and The Defenders are only the beginning of this fantastic action packed tale.”

Marvel also released a new trailer for its superhero team-up miniseries The Defenders (debuting Aug. 18) as well as a trailer for Daredevil spin-off The Punisher (coming later this year). The studio also revealed a third season of Daredevil is in the works.

There’s no premiere date yet for Iron Fist season 2.

Despite his dubious past work, a fresh pair of hands is exactly what the show needs. A pair of hands willing to put Finn Jones in a green ninja costume, give him more than a half hour to rehearse fight scenes, get him a good stunt man and let him fight a CGI dragon. Hopefully Season One will become an awkward, crappy start to an otherwise kick-ass Kung-Fu superhero show.

For people complaining that this guy wrote Elektra, please remember that James Gunn wrote both live action Scooby-Doo movies. Stranger things has happened.

Our prayers have been answered.🙏 Jeph Loeb on Metzner:
