My dad died last week. Here's him playing an FPS in 1996 on a sweet Packard Bell.

Never shared this, but your post made me want to. My dad and I had Mortal Kombat for the Super Nintendo. However, my mum did not like the gore in the game (little pixels of red was too much at the time). That being said, she hid the game from both of us. We both looked and looked for it and one day we found it. We did not say anything but snuck to the basement and played every week, followed by sneaking it back into the hiding spot after playing. This went on for years, until I grew up and we moved on to other games anyway. When he passed I found the old cartridge and loaded it up, I still to this day cannot play as Sonja in the game. That's who he always played as, and when I get to play against her it still feels like I'm playing against him to this day. Certain things will always bring you back to that vivid memory of the person, I wish you all the best in finding that and cherishing it as much as you can.

That's not just an FPS. That's one of the founding fathers. Still one of the greatest FPS games of all time. That's motherfucking Doom.
