What! You don't like 115 lbs women who are defying the laws of physics and sending 200+ lbs men flying with roundhouse kicks with no real explanation other then they're "badass"!?
I've felt this way for years. It's lazy as hell. Super powers are different, Wonder Woman was excellent. But if it's a regular women they should be written to show the cool ways they can overcome adversity in spite of their natural physical limitations. With wit, planning, agility, whatever.
Honestly, you see this a lot in anime. One great thing about the "strong silent prodigy girl" is that, of you look carefully, there's barely any personality there, which is easy to hide if she never shows any emotion. Not saying this goes for all of them, but definitely most.

Something I love about Ghibli Films are the women have strog personalities
