It turns out, Ken M's experience was incredibly common in the 19th Century. You waited to marry a proper member of the opposite sex for "true love", but it was cool to help out your buddies with a little rub & tug between friends, as long as you both kept in on the DL and didn't get all weird about it later. Victorian Culture was a different kind of world than we have today, and far different than many people think it was back then.
