SLIDELL, LA. - - Here’s one from the ‘you can’t make this stuff up’ files.

The Slidell, Louisiana, Police Department says they pulled over a car and arrested the driver on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

The car was left in a parking lot, and the other people who were in the car got a cab ride home.

Police say a woman who had been in the car later went back up to pick it up. They say she took the car to the police station to try to bail her friend out!

They say she was also drunk and they put her in jail, too.

The Slidell Police Department posted about it, saying ‘Lesson of the day...don't drive drunk to a police station in order to bail out your drunk friend! ‘

The names of the two people arrested haven't been released.

One night I had a few of my buddies over and we had a few beers. They left around 11pm and went out to some bars. I smoked some weed played some Halo and went to bed. Got a call from the sheriffs dept at about 2am saying they had my two friends on the side of the road and if I picked them up they wouldn't be arrested for DUI or something. Woke up my wife and her drive me down there. First thing the cops asked me when I walked up was if I had been drinking. "Yes sir that's why my wife drove"

They had her move their car to a parking lot. She drove my buddies home but was so mad she wouldn't pull over so they could pee. I guess they had been holding it for an hour. 😂

To this day I'm not sure if they were trying to be nice or set me up. I like to think they were just being nice.

This is actually very common. Not funny to those that work in the field. Just another day on the job.
