I wonder what the backstory is. Did he buy the balls specifically to donate? Did he find the bag of balls from his younger years in the back of a closet? Or maybe he's a widower and his only company for the past five years, a big old dog that never left his side, just died, and he wants his four-legged best friend's favorite toys to bring joy to other creatures that are now all alone in this world.
I absolutely love the idea of this older gentleman taking the time out of his day to gather these old tennis balls and bring them all the way down to the shelter just to bring some joy into the lives of the dogs that live there. This man is truely a class act.

As a tennis coach I have 1000s of dead balls, and my two dogs have more then they could ever want.
