It's literally part of their corporate practice to guilt their employees to work on days off? I hate to say it Virgin, but I wouldn't have needed a crystal ball to see this coming.

Of course this is what you get when you underfund and privatise services like public transport.

Can't run a service for the common good when you need to focus on making a profit for shareholders above all else.

Pretty common in all retail-style industries. Pay people poorly, don't train anyone, don't appreciate anyone. Most of your workers will not care about their job. The ones who, for whatever reason, do care... They get the constant calls on off days to come work more. Eventually they stop caring too. And of course, it's the lazy employees that are to blame...
