I've been training for 3 years and come from zero athletic background. All I did in high school was play Call of Duty and World of Warcraft. I'm in love with this sport now. I train roughly five days a week normally, six days during fight camp the last two months.

With the right attitude and coaching ANYONE can get in the cage, guys. If anyone has any questions let me know!

My opponent hit ridiculously hard. He was also relatively huge. There was a miscommunication at weigh ins and he came in thinking the fight would be at 150 when I was told 145. He weighed in at 148.6 while I was 143.9. He was probably 165-ish in the cage, whereas I walk around at 148 or so normally. I didn't make any real weight cut since this was my first fight and I had zero weight cutting experience.

Professional video will be up on YouTube in a few days. I basically took a really hard shot and the dude went for a clinch on the cage, I fell/pulled guard and hit the same triangle I've hit hundreds and hundreds of times in practice.

The event was Xtreme Caged Combat 28 in Philadelphia and I train at Paper Street BJJ and MMA in Hatboro, PA. Awesome promotion for anyone considering fighting in the area, and easily one of the best gyms if you're looking to learn to fight.

EDIT: Guys the response to this has been amazing. It makes me so happy that so many people find this inspiring because that was a major reason why I wanted to fight in the first place.

Also, once the video is here you guys are probably gonna be disappointed, haha... The triangle was super clean but before that I basically did everything wrong. I learned so much, though. I really know what I need to work on. What everyone says is true, fighting is very different than sparring. I'll definitely post it as soon as it's available!

Nice one OP, your opponent looks devastated. Did you compliment Danny-Murgz on his tan?
