I used to get that all the time. I started leaving trash bags out for them to shelter from the rain.

Report this to your postmaster. It is not allowed.

Edit: op was pmd the contact for the district, let's hope it's resolved soon

Edit edit: it wasn't op, just someone else with issues........ ¯\(ツ)/¯

USPS Mail Carrier here, This is not the correct place to leave these packages. You have what we call a mounted delivery. Your box is serviced while your carrier sits in his/her truck and stretches and arm out to deliver your mail to your box. These types of routes are the most coveted as they typically involve a lot less walking than a normal route. Thus, these routes are usually held by carriers who have many years of seniority at the post office and are usually a little older in age. Your carrier (being advanced in years) was probably too lazy to walk the boxes to your front porch. This is not an excuse it's just a reality. Call and complain! Also inform amazon and see if there's anything they can do for you.
