I'm in Utah, the bugs are hardly an issue, it does snow in winter, yes there are other houses but you can't see them cause of the woods, I'm on 3/4 acre and only have two tiny patches of grass, the rest is all woods. Deer live on the property year-round, a buck watches me get ready for work each morning. It's a magical place, I've only lived here a few months but love looking out the floor-to-ceiling windows at all the trees. It's a crazy mid-century house jutting out of the hillside.
