Quite a few big titles will need windows media centre to run actually. Ages ago I bought the Europe windows 7, which by law has to have windows media centre unbundled. It took me fucking forever to realise this when I was trying to figure out why my new build couldn't run GTA4. Still happens to this day, most recent game was Andromeda.
What about Ubisoft titles where the game's ingame voice chat volume adjusts the windows microphone. If you turn down your microphone ingame to 0, you can't chat using Teamspeak or Discord because it mutes you.
