During the Nintendo Spotlight today, Nintendo officially confirmed that Metroid Prime 4 is on the way.

A short teaser shown during the conference revealed a “4” followed by the familiar Metroid Prime theme and logo, but no other information aside from a promise that the game is “now in development for Nintendo Switch.”

No release date, developer, or story information was revealed. It is, however, available for preorder.

The return of Nintendo’s first-person Metroid game marks the first core entry in the series in a decade, following Metroid Prime 3: Corruption in 2007. The latest Metroid game, Metroid Prime: Federation Force, came to 3DS last year.
