Agreed. I personally found it really pretty. I had a lot of fun. Didn't like the red light district. It was too much of a tourist trap. But I really liked leidseplein. And I enjoyed just sitting on the side of a canal, drinking some coffee and eating something from the bakery near my hostel. It was great and I didn't want to leave.
