I have no resentfulness or hate for my exes, I chose them, we had good times together, now it's finish and we moved on. If you chose poorly, or couldn't sustain the relationship, hate your fucking self.
EDIT: This is getting big... Okay, I understand that sometimes, you grasp the red flags a little too late, and you end up in a shitty situation. But to avoid that, you should take in account the stories around you and your previous mistakes, to be sure to be with someone relatively balanced and respectful before going too far in the relationship. It's up to you to not get blinded by love at the first occasion. Trust people only when they're worthy of trusting, and this is only good if you have high standards for yourself, or you'll trust the first person that comes your way.
EDIT2: About the cheating... (Disclaimer, I never cheated, never want to either, last occasion I had: my ex was in the process of dumping me, I didn't know, a girl asked me to come over, I refused, two days later I was dumped.) To me, cheaters have motives, so even if they like the thrill of the secret or whatever, they had motives, you don't cheat to cheat, you cheat because you're hurt, or unsatisfied, or careless. So find people that you trust, that are satisfied with you, and that will respect you in every situation.
To me, if you stay with someone who's careless enough to prefer cheating instead of confronting you and have the courage to solve problems or end the relationship, it's both your faults. There are hints that you can pick onto very early in a relationship, if you can't interpret them right, it's a lack of experience. If you can interpret the hints, and you decide to stay, it's your fault, don't complain.
