I always think it's easier when it's my in-laws or a friend's parents. I have zero patience/tolerance for my own. Maybe we should set up some sort of system where we help other people's parents instead of our own.
This reminds me of the time my mother couldn't print a document and asked me to come over. I arrive to a laptop with a zoomed in view of the paper she was trying to print as her desktop background. Needless to say, I was impressed.
My grandfather got his first PC at age 92. I would go over to help him with his computer questions on a regular basis, and he would always have all his question typed up very neatly... using his typewriter.
