In a nearby town to me, someone has placed their wrecked vehicle outside their home on a busy highway with a large sign that says "NATIONWIDE WON'T PAY".

A co-worker of my did something similar but with a home builder. He purchased a home from a typical cookie cutter plan home builder. They apparently screwed up everything. Roof leaked, siding was falling off, lights didn't work and so on. He call and called trying to get everything fixed and the continued to give him the run around. Eventually he got sick of it and starting putting signs up, "ask me about me generic home builder here" and listed his number. He received tons of calls from the builder themselves, to be customers and their direct competitors.

Then he started to notice his signs being removed. So he contacted the builder and told them if they don't stop removing his signs he would put them places that the people who had to remove them would get hurt. I.e. on the ledge of a cliff etc. They agreed to leave his signs alone and actually decided to work to fix the problem. His house was in such bad shape they moved him and his family into the model home for the price he originally paid.

Moral of story is persistence paid off.
