Would we even be able to hear the sun over the roaring of the 66,600 mph wind generated by us orbiting the sun through that air (assuming it didn't just scour us off the face of the planet)?

That being said, the Sun's acoustic vibrations are between 0.001 and 0.005 Hz, which is far lower than the audible human hearing range of about 20 to 20,000 Hz.

Nobody's commented on it yet, but the 120dB value seemed way too low to me, and in my cursory research, I was right. The site linked below claims a typical value of 140dB, a 10 fold increase in amplitude over 120dB.
