Is this 100% pen/ink? I'm looking at their instagram and there are quite clearly some photo edited shots on there.
The first layer, and even the descending rings I can understand as some crazy good pen work for the detail in the plants, but I'm wondering how this is shaded so accurately as the hole gets 'deeper'.
A lot of their other work seems to be good, but ultimately quite simple and 2D fine pen work, then suddenly this and a couple of other ones that seem to jump out and transcend the previous works.
edit: to everyone saying 'IT'S STILL ART': I never said it wasn't. It's still a very cool image; it's just not a '2D sketch'.
