I went to Tokyo and laugh at how wrong neckbeards are on this subject. They're actually less understanding/accepting of deviance/weirdos/nerds in Tokyo from my perspective. The Akihabara neighbourhood is a glaring exception but even then there's a thick air of shame just from walking around there.

I studied abroad in Japan, and this is exactly what happened. So many people there thought they would be accepted there. They would try to talk using Anime Japanese and everyone just made fun of them for it.

Okay first of all, this guy is doing it wrong.

When I save up to move to Japan and begin my sword crafting business, I will blend in with the culture. I will use terms such as "moshi moshi" and "baka" to immerse myself in the rich ways of the japanese.
