Broke apart a smart phone power bank to use for the battery. It's 5200mAh of juice ended up being enough to power the whole system for a solid 4 hours depending on what game being played. The little PCB that comes with it is great for regulating the current flow to the Pi. It takes the 3.7v and ups it to a perfect 5v that the Pi needs. It gets charged via the micro USB and I wired the 5v point from the standard USB out directly to the Pi. Unfortunately, it cannot play and charge at the same time. However, the 4 LEDs are great for gauging how much power I have left, and i doubt ill be playing for >4 hours in one sitting.

OP, are you sure you're giving yourself enough credit on this? This is the coolest thing I've seen all day. I mean, it's only 7:45am but damn, as a gamer I don't think this is gonna get topped.

This is really impressive to me. It's like the mullet of handhelds. The front looks very classy and professionally done and the back looks handmade.

Both good things. Like the mullet.
