In Austin, Texas, there is a Nature Center downtown with various native animals in cages for people to see. One was a coyote named Martha, who passed away recently. Martha was orphaned as a pup, and a rancher raised her. He taught her to herd cattle and she worked like other dogs on his ranch. Then he sold the ranch and moved to the city; Martha came along. Lots of people freaked out and the rancher was told that he couldn't just have a coyote, so he gave her to the Nature Center.
