Having lived in a place like this in Alma, right over the mountains from Leadville, I can say it is both awesome and incredibly burly. Sure, you love the snow. But do you love chopping firewood for hours in order to stay warm and having to trudge through snow to get it? Or hike up a 1/2 mile driveway in 90 mph winds while it is snowing?
The beauty is just like the problems, it is endless. You better be prepared.
