Authorities are searching for a 20-year-old Franklin, Massachusetts, man who never came home after a party.

State and local police are searching woods and marshes after a 20-year-old man from Franklin, Massachusetts, never came home from a party over the weekend.

Michael Doherty, a Duke University student, was last seen in the area of Phyllis Lane around 1:30 am on Sunday.

His parents reported him missing after he didn't come home from a party.

He was wearing a blue shirt with a Nike symbol along with black pants and sneakers.

Doherty is described as about 5'10", and has brown hair and eyes.

Environmental police joined the search Monday morning to help scour wooded and marshy areas for any sign of Doherty.

If you have any information as to Doherty's whereabouts, please contact Franklin Police at 508-528-1212.

Michael Schoenfield, vice president for public affairs and government relations at Duke University, said in part, "Our thoughts are with Michael and his family for a quick and positive outcome."

Yo there must be something bad going on here.

I tried to file a police report when my girlfriend was missing for a day and a half. I called them because she was meeting a potential client from the internet at a bar the night she disappeared, she never came home, and wasn't at school the next day, and we are both always diligent about checking in or leaving notes if we won't be where we should.

The police told me I couldn't file a missing persons report on a non-disabled adult because they could have just decided to leave. Even meeting the internet guy wasn't enough of a reason for them to even put a lookout for her car.

This makes me think this is probably a very serious situation they haven't yet disclosed the details of.
