Let me tell you the story of one of my happiest times.
Up in the mountains of Tochigi prefecture in the Nasu Shiobara area is an old ryokan (inn) called Kita Onsen. It's very old, very traditional and accessible only by walking down a steep hill from the parking lot.
I had a small tatami-mat room and since it was winter a kotatsu graced the middle of the room. I had stocked up on snacks, had lots of green tea and beer and spent two days reading, writing, listening to music and soaking in the various indoor and outdoor baths. When I felt like it I just keeled over and had a nap cozy and warm under the kotatsu like OP's picture.
Completely separated from any modern distractions it was the greatest mental rest I've ever had.
