This is a generical viewpoint that a lot of people have held and expressed. Not arguing about whether or not it's accurate, just that Chomsky hardly deserves much credit for saying this as he's not the only and certainly not even the first one to do so. Nothing against the man, but it's not even a quote in which it's put particularly eloquently.
