In most widely cited sources (World Bank, IMF, The Economist, CIA Factbook) California is listed as 7th or 8th largest. So, your map is missing France and probably Brasil. Order is (US without CA, China, Japan, Germany, UK, France, Brasil, California). Italy sometimes sneaks ahead if CA is down and they are up.
