Funny thing is a Health Care plan IS good for the economy. When you are sick you can't contribute to the economy because you have no money as you can't go to work because all your cash is going to the medical bill. You loose your job, file for bankruptcy, die.
If you have health care, because you don't need to worry about medical bills, you will be able to spend extra capital on things that are not constantly trying to cling to life.

What good is keeping someone healthy if they aren't going to commit any crimes, and we can't send them into battle?

The problem is we have turned health into a commodity, a for-profit business. It isn't. Never was, never will be. Health is a communal good.
