Never, because the "success" stories of people getting their treatments funded are a tiny percentage of the people who actually use it. It's a popularity contest, which is an even worse thing to base health care on.
Instead of an internet platform where people can pay money for things they want to fund and projects can collect money from the crowd, the government should provide a way of collecting money themselves in order to fund projects that all people can benefit from, healthcare for example or building streets. I don't know what to name this idea yet, essentially it's like crowdfunding but by the government. Hmmmm
