I hope whoever sold this manages to pay off their mob debts or whatever crazy thing they needed money for so urgently.

Don't mind me. I'm just over here in the corner dying of envy.

My dad introduced my sister and I to Calvin & Hobbes as youngsters. He had all the original comic collections in excellent condition and, to borrow his books, we had to wash our hands and return the books promptly when we were done. My sister and I would read them out loud to each other (I was always Calvin. She was everyone else). We'd recreate their wagon rides (even the dinner flight), add red food coloring to our snowmen, and taught Calvin Ball to all our cousins and neighbors.

For Christmas this past year, he had ny sister and I sit on the couch (because the boxes were so heavy), and he kept saying the gift was probably stupid, and he didn't know if we'd use it, and he could take it back. It was this set of books. We were so excited. I hadn't read them since childhood, and I shared them with my husband, who had never read a Calvin & Hobbes comic. Every page brings back memories and the jokes read differently as an adult. Hearing my husband laugh out loud at them makes me so happy. My dad told me, when he has a bad day at work, he comes home and opens up Calvin & Hobbes and just laughs and laughs.

That set is beautiful (and you got it for a steal!). I hope it continues to bring you amazing memories, if you are an old fan, or lots of laughs, if you are a new (or old) fan!
