If anyone wants to know what it actually is:

Cinco de Mayo is to celebrate Mexico's unlikely victory when the French tried to take overat the battle of Puebla. The French had way more manpower and better weapons, but under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza they secured their victory in 1862.

5 de Mayo is more culturally significant to Mexican immigrants to the United States than to Mexicans in Mexico. Its simply a nice day to celebrate Mexican identity in the US.

Also Cinco de Drinco is stupid. Drinko de Mayo sounds better.
