'Saved by sandwich,' Woman has life saving lunch

A Pennsylvania woman says she's alive because of her sandwich after a truck flipped on its side and landed on her porch.

Ellen Meharey of Tarentum, Pa., said she usually attends church on Sunday and then walks her two dogs, Joey and Bella. But this Sunday she changed up her routine.

"I wanted to get something to eat before I took the dogs out," Meharey said. "I just decided to make a half a sandwich and get something to eat before I went out, and I am so glad I did."

While making that sandwich, Meharey says she heard a screech and then a bang. She looked outside and saw a truck lying on its side in her front yard. The truck scrunched the hood of her car, struck her wheelchair ramp and knocked off her railing.

"I called 911, and I did not know who was in the car, if they were dead or alive," she said. "Or what was going on. I just called 911."

Then, she took a moment to think. She could have been standing in that exact spot with her dogs if it was not for that sandwich.

"I either would have been out in the street, or I would have been just coming down the ramp," said Meharey. "And I would have probably gotten killed."

The driver of the truck was treated at the scene, but was otherwise OK.

As for what type of sandwich Meharey was making...that remains a mystery.

Click bait. Woman may have been killed because she may have been standing near the location of an accident, but she went to make a sandwich...

That reminds me of the Jessica Jones episode titled "AKA The Sandwich Saved Me"

That's a little disappointing. I was hoping she was going to have some kind of spiritual awakening because of an amazing sandwich that inspired her to keep on living.
