That's most likely from the "boyfriend stash". They probably have their regular toilet paper that they use but put that out to ensure that you are with their daughter because of love and not luxury toiletries.
So I showed my girlfriend this post and she brought it up at the family dinner just a second ago. She told her parents, "Zac has a question for you guys."

They stared me down and waited for me to word whatever the hell I was trying to say. Then I just simply asked why they why they prefer single ply toilet paper. Turns out it's a generation thing and they grew up using it.
Haha not sure if this was a relationship building moment or we took a step back today.
Edit: The dad just said, "We like it rough. The rougher, the better."
