Just a test piece off my finished damascus steel billet. Total billet size approximately 33" x 2" x 0.25" but I had to cut it down to get it to fit into my forge. I'm planning on forging the large billet into a falchion sword and I'll probably cut the other billet down some more and forge knives out of it. I've made a lot of blades using The Crushinator already but I finally decided to sit down and put this DIY together over the weekend. Anyway, if all you wanted to see was some hot juicy steel getting smashed, no need to continue. However, if you want to see how I built THE CRUSHINATOR keep reading and perhaps you might feel inspired to build something cool yourself. If blacksmithing sounds like something you've always wanted to do but you have no idea where to start, it's your lucky day! A few years back I wrote a comprehensive guide to getting started for dirt cheap (literally) and you can check it out here: http://imgur.com/a/Vr4UD p.s. If I have to listen to one more pendant say "hurr durr pattern welded steel isn't TRUE damascus steel" I'm going to die of a spontaneous aneurysm.

This shit had me dying.

"Sketch out design on a napkin. Haphazardly measure once. Cut it wrong. Grind to fit. Grind too much. Fuck it, close enough."
