My friends and me all used to have a gamecube with 4 controllers in our car trunk just in case random meetups hapenned. We'd play a modified version of Supersmash Bros. Melee where we'd all start top left in the character selection (Dr. Mario) and play free for all. random map, no item, 1 stock. The first one to die would get 4th place, second one 3rd place, third one 2nd place and the surviving one would win the round.
Here's what hapenned:
4th place would drink 2 shots (we used beers) and stay the same character.
3rd place would drink 1 shot and stay the same character
2nd place would not drink but would stay the same character
1st place would move on the the next character in the list.
Goal is obviously to win as every character, first to do so is grand champion of the night (and gets all the unopenned beers from other players as reward, or any other wager in place). Game takes about 2h30 - 3h to complete, and is hilarious. Once you get 4th place a lot, you're in a huge disadventage later on since you're getting a bit too drunk to compete with the more sober and successful players, so best if you don't fall behind too quickly. The game works better if all players are very close in skill level, or else the same dude getting hammered everytime feels like a non factor.
