Pro tip if you're planning on going to Florence and want to go up the dome (which you should). You need to book a ticket AND reserve a time slot, with availability usually only being for the next day.
I saw a lot of disappointed people thinking they could just waltz up at any time but were turned away, then to realise all the time slots had been booked.
Also avoid booking the tickets online, the website is garbage.
