BTW, this was the Loew's Victoria on 125th street. Opened in 1917, closed in 1994, demolished two weeks ago.

I believe the boy is standing in front of the Loew's Victoria theater, 233 W. 125th Street, New York, NY. Here's a Google Street View of the building today (well, Aug 2014) and a Wikipedia article about the theater.

It was only a few doors down from the more famous Apollo Theater on 125th Street, between 7th Avenue and Frederick Douglass Blvd.
