So half of the EU population has retired to southern Spain since I last looked?

France population is 66 million, and Spain 46 million, but judging by this graph you would think Spain is three times more populated than France.

afaik castilla la mancha (southern spain) is a demographic desert. Andalucia is heavily populated, but if you compare this map with a light map which could act as a proxy, you can see this map is clearly wrong in some fundamental way.
